RE: 64-bits architecture

Hi again, sorry - forget my post - my fault: Bluetools.dll was missing from the "Debug" folder ... grr. Bluetools seems to work perfectly as 32 bit process in 64 bit OS ... nice. Maybe you might want to update the System Requirements accordingly, as it states that 64 bit is not support - which is on...

RE: 64-bits architecture

Hi Johan, I know that support for BlueTools is kind of suspended, but can you clarify a bit more on that statement? I´m wondering because in the FAQ it states "BlueTools works on 32-bit Windows, but currently not on 64-bit versions of Windows." It would be really great if our "old" application (32 b...

RE: Windows Vista and bluetools

Hi, BlueTools works perfectly for me under Windows Vista (Ultimate). I haven´t seen any issues. Obviously it is sad to hear that it won´t be officially supported and not extended - this makes us think about moving to a different platform because compatibility with future OS is crucial for us. Regard...

RE: Which dongles actually run?

Hi, one more thing: Basically I only need the Widcomm support in order to be able to have a solution working on Win 2000. I found that basically all other dongles can use the MS Stack on Win XP and Win Vista, with a small driver modification. So long term the issue might be non existent - unless e.g...

RE: Which dongles actually run?

Hi, thanks for the notification and link, also thanks Jonas for the update on future direction. Unfortunately I´m in need of a Class 1 dongle with Widcomm stack, and this seem to be hard to find. I heard that Anycom will come up with a replacement for their discontinued product - so hope they will k...

RE: Which dongles actually run?

Hi hajoko, I agree that it is not easy to find dongles with Widcomm stack, it looks like this one is becoming less popular. Anycom has dongles using Widcomm only, but has discontinued their USB-250 and USB-200 dongles. One option might be the fairly new Anycom USB-500, which you can bye at e.g. amaz...

RE: is it stable enough ?

Hi, I´m using it on my application - and while I have been experienceing several issues in regard to stability as such, I have never been able to actually blame BlueTools api for it. I think the various BT implementations are not the most stable ones as such, as BT in general seems not to the most r...

RE: BlueTools 1.21 build 842

Hi, thanks for the updated information. Just two more remarks: - For MS stack the network name is not equal to the computer name (or at least does not have to). You can set the name for your BT device in the device manager, extended options of the device - It would be great if the network.name could...

RE: BlueTools 1.21 build 842

Hi, sorry - you can forget about the exception - I forgot to update to the latest version in all places. Still some explanation for the difference between network.name and network.server.name would be helpful. Also, could you explain a bit what the bug fix for "MFC BlueTools library which couldn't d...

RE: BlueTools 1.21 build 842

Hi Jonas, thanks for the update - sounds great. Can you give an example of Network.Name usage and what it is for? The documentation does not really explain a lot. When using it I get an expeption: System.EntryPointNotFoundException: The entrypoint Network_GetName was not found in DLL BlueTools.dll. ...

RE: Multiple dongles

Hi,

while I do agree that this would be a nice feature - are you sure that windows can handle two dongles at the same time?

I could not get my internal BT device working at the same time as my USB dongle ...

RE: Ideas for BlueTools in the future

Hi, there is another thing I would like to see in the future: It would be great if the name of my own device (the name my device uses to get in contact with other devices) could be figured out through the API. Of course it would be even better if it could be set through the API. To be honest I do no...

RE: BlueTools .NET 1.21 Beta 1 released!

Hi, first of all it´s great that development continues and thanks for the timely 1.21 release. In regard to the topic above, can you clarify this a bit more? Guess what is meant is: "Allows you to always detect devices in your bluetooth neighbourhood even if they are BONDED"? Does this then also mea...

RE: Ideas for BlueTools in the future

Hi, adding to my previous post, here is a list of device classes that the MS Stack seems to know: Private Sub cmbDeviceType_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Select Case cmbDeviceType.Text Case "CellPhone" deviceType = DeviceType.CellPhone Exit Select Case "DesktopCo...
