RE: Problem of showing streets' names

All attributes are stored in the .dbf-file. If the shapefile comes with street names, they are stored in there.

Here is a guide on how to show labels from the .dbf-file:

RE: Vehicle add error message

In the latest release of GpsGateServer (1.0.0.19) you should be able to have two users (one besides the admin user). Note that if you have installed buddy tracker, you will by default have a sample user. If you remove a user from the database using an editor or a sql command you need to restart the ...

RE: BuddyTracker fine tuning

Thank you for the feedback. To get the marker working on your port, you need to change the buddy.js file as well and add the port number to the following line: buddyIcon.src = getServerName() + "81:/ImageFactory.aspx?param=" + this.GetUsername() + "&requestType=UsernameIcon&imageFormat=.png"; That i...

RE: BuddyTracker fine tuning

1. This is currently not supported out of the box. However, you can tweak BuddyTracker to make it work. What you need to do (excepted change the port settings in IIS) is to edit the file settings.js in IIS\scripts and add ":81" to the following lines: var WSUserAccountManager = getServerName() + ":8...

RE: labels and SelectByBoundingBoxAndResolution

You can draw the labels manually for each of the shapes you have read from the shapefile using the Map.NewLabel method: http://www.franson.com/gpstools/reference_manual.asp?comp=view&class=Label&platform=net Since the shapes have a ShapeID you can use ShapeFile.GetAttribute and DataRecord to obtain ...

RE: Administrator login

I'm sorry to here that. It is currently not possible to resolve the problem from within GpsGate Server. The best way is to drop the database and create a new one (type the following in the MySQL prompt: drop database 'databasename' or use the MySQL Administrator). And then browse to install.aspx and...

RE: windows server 2003 ASP.NET security

There are some differences in the security settings on IIS V6.0 (Windows 2003) compared to IIS 5.x (Windows XP). First of all, you need to allow ASP.NET. You do this by clicking Web Service Extensions, select ASP.NET 2.0x and click allow. You also need to give the user account that is used for anony...

We are trying to make the install documentation as easy as possible to follow. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

In step 12 it should say:

RE: Newbie - making a start...

GpsGateServer can only be installed on dedicated servers currently (your local PC is considered as a dedicated server). Shared/hosted servers are not supported yet. The documentation is incorrect there I'm afraid. The install documentation will help you set up the IIS so you don't have to copy the f...
