Re: Add user and device in REST API

Well I re-read the guide and looked at the Swagger API documentation, then I noticed how recent the guide was. Could it be that a recent update added this information in the API? I made the plugin update and the new structure appeared. Good! Is there a "public" instance of GpsGate server to look at ...

Re: Add user and device in REST API

Hello Johan, Thanks for the link, but I do not see how to set a device/TemplateID for a new user, either at creation or after. I do not see what would be the REST equivalent of the addUserWithUserTemplate SOAP call. Maybe the REST call could be extended to allow this parameter We currently use a mix...

Re: Add user and device in REST API

For reference, we also had to do it and used the SOAP API.

Report emailed through API

I need to produce a BC1000 report with some parameters (from/to, which vehicle, email address, etc.) and email it programatically, using an API. I could not see this in Soap or REST API. Is there another way (maybe scripts, triggered from a webhook) to do it?

How to cancel a Shared Location - with API

Hi,

I use Share Location and wonder how to cancel an existing share that has not expired yet.
I see the cancel session in the Admin menu. It works but is it the right way to do it in the application?

How should I do it by API?

Thx

Worried about _AnonymousLogin privilege

I need to activate _AnonymousLogin privilege to use the Share Location ( https://support.gpsgate.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006600933 ) feature but wonder what else is "opened" by this privilege? The name itself worries me "anonymous login" does not mean that people can login without credentials, right?

Error on device response in terminal - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I send the following UDP message in the terminal window for a VJOY device, but the device message returned causes an error (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.). I'm afraid the error may prevent the successful parsing of the result when I make a command template. Here's a terminal ...

Using brackets [ ] in a command template

The command I'm trying to implement is this: [begin]sms2,*status*,[end] [begin] and [end] are literals and not variables. How should I include them in the template? In the terminal window, I successfully used ASCII codes like this: [0x5B]begin[0x5D]sms2,*status*,[0x5B]end[0x5D] But it does not seem ...

Send a command from a webscript

Hi, I already made webscripts in an app to return information about my devices to a web application. Now I need to send a command to a device from a similar weebscript or maybe another REST API call. My custom command is already made. How can we send a command from a webscript? I tried from another ...

IFTA Report Modifications: Canada

Hi,

We need the Canadian provinces/territories to be available in the territory drop down for the report, and of course in the geocoding for report TR-2002 IFTA report. I would think someone else had to do it already...

CheckHDOP and Always Valid plugins and privileges

This is about the CheckHDOP and Always Valid plugins and the related settings and application privileges. We have devices reporting invalid trackpoints once in a while. Terminal reveals the HDOP is indeed above 2.0 and invalidates these points although they seem good enough for this application. I w...

Re: AlwaysValid Plugin: keep the "invalid" status information

Hi Johan, One good reason to consider the data is that the vehicle is in a underground garage, but the rest of the data is correct, such as OBDII values, ignition on or off. Also , just the fact that the device DID report activity between this time and that time, tells me that it hasn't been destroy...

AlwaysValid Plugin: keep the "invalid" status information

Hi, We are using the AlwaysValid Plugin but would like to record the fact that the GPS fix was indeed invalid. Is there a way to do this? The "valid" variable is true when using the plugin, which is consistent, I suppose. I thought of using an additionnal variable such as HDOP but guess there might ...
