GUIDE: Setup Eco Report with Teltonika trackers

Fri Nov 09, 2012 4:39 pm

ECO Report configuration for Teltonika FM1100 and FM4200

This guide shows how you configure your Teltonika device and GpsGate Server to monitor harsh driving, speeding and excessive idling using the Eco Report Plugin.

1. Prerequisites

You have a GpsGate Server installation with Teltonika FM1100 or FM4200 devices (this guide does not cover basic device setup).

Verify that:
  • Your GpsGate Server is updated with the latest Teltonika and VarPack2 Plugins

  • Your Teltonika device has firmware with harsh driving support

  • The device is mounted according to recommendations from Teltonika

2. Device setup: Harsh driving

If you have physical access to your device you can use the Teltonika configuration tool to configure your device. Set the following values:
- Max Acceleration force = 0.25
- Max Breaking force = 0.35
- Max Cornering angle = 23

Another option is to configure your Teltonika device with the SMS commands shown below.

On a new device all SMS commands begin with two spaces, but you may have set an SMS login and password on the device. For a new device the command format is:
<space><space><command>

For a device with a login and password it is:
<SMS login><space><SMS password><space><command>

This is easy to test as the device will reply with an ok message when you get it right.

Note: On Teltonika FM4200 you have to modify the commands to control the Profile you are using in the device. The first number after "setparam" is the Profile number, so if you are using Profile 3 you should change the command from " setparam 1602 0.25" to " setparam 3602 0.25", and so on for each SMS.

Send the following SMS messages to your device (without the quotes):

Configure Max Acceleration force :

Code: Select all

"  setparam 1602 0.25"

Configure Max Breaking force:

Code: Select all

"  setparam 1603 0.35"

Configure Max Cornering angle:

Code: Select all

"  setparam 1604 23"

3. Application setup: Configure the Device mapper

Login to VehicleTracker as an administrator.

Select the Teltonika device mapper (FM1100 or FM4200) and map the following signals:

"The input you have connected to the vehicle ignition signal" = "Ignition"
"HarshBraking" = "HarshBreakingDigital"
"HarshAcceleration" = "HarshAccelerationDigital"
"HarshCornering" = "HarshTurningDigital"

Save the Device mapper.

4. Application setup: Install ECO Report Plugin

Follow this setup guide to install the Eco Report Plugin:

Hi, FM4200 harsh driving support has been around for about a year as discussed here:
http://forum.gpsgate.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13744

Please let us know if you have other information from Teltonika.

Hi Fady,

Wonder your FM4200 already updated the firmware with Eco scenario feature? Otherwise Eco command may not work on your device.

Fady,

Your objective is "to get ECO report result"

1. Need to update the Firmware of your FM4200, provided by Teltonika. I believe the FM4200 base firmware has no Eco feature.
2. Link the device to the Teltonika Configuratoronfigurator to set the Hash scenario parameter.
3. Set the device mapper for correct Hash scenario variables in the Application
4. Select the Eco reports from the correct available report template.

Hope the above order may help.

For Teltonika FM1100 the Cornering values seems to be between 0.1 and 1.0, and not as high as 23 as the beginning of the post suggest.

Hi Juanjo

Do you know what the correct FM1100 harsh settings are. The settings at the top of the post seen very sensitive compared to the preset values on the Green Driving scenarios on the FM configuration
