VehicleTracker script apps - http notifications?

Sat Jan 07, 2017 9:31 pm

Could I use these: http://gpsgate.com/blogComment/apps
To link to the boxcar api for sending boxcar alerts (IOS notifications) on event rules? Ie overspeed, inside/outside geofence? I currently have these all set up as email, but woul dlike to move to boxcar alerts.

I know the api side for boxcar as have used it before: http://developer.boxcar.io/api/publisher/

No one? Any way of calling a url as part of an event (online, inside geofence outside). I'm not keen on SMS as boxcar and other web messaging platforms are more flexible. Email is over and seems a bit excessive.

Notify your custom server over HTTP when an Event Rule is true:

So am I correct in understanding that GPSgate will post a http get to the URL of my choice but will include all of these parameters?

Code: Select all

http://yourserver.com/yourpage.aspx?cmd=_ExternalNotification&SIGNAL_SOS=true&RULE_NAME=SOS&EVENT_TIME=2010-10-03T15:02:56&EVENT_DURATION=0&USER_USERNAME=johan&USER_NAME=johan&USER_DESCRIPTION=&POS_TIME=2010-10-03T15:02:55&POS_LATITUDE=59.28687&POS_LONGITUDE=18.08927&POS_HEADING=275&POS_ADDRESS=Nyn%C3%A4sv%C3%A4gen%20303-305,%20122%2034%20Stockholm,%20Sweden
And that I'll need to get in the way on this request and perform and extraction of the parameters I want and do the authentication to boxcar?

Or can I modify the outgoing request from gpsgate somehow to add the authentication and other values?

To change the format of the URL you need to put some kind of proxy in between. For example by using a Web Service Script:

Is there a web service script example somewhere I could use as a base? Something to post some information to an external service?

I read all these developer blogs last night and I got the impression the web service script was more for incoming interactions to the GPS gate server, not for external

The incoming request would be from the HTTP Notification.

And then your Web Service Script receives that data, prepares a new format and posts it to the destination of your liking.

1. Receive GET from HTTP Notification.
2. Parse data.
3. Prepare new format.
4. POST (or GET) to new target.
