RE: looking for tracker with long battery life

Thats exactly what holds me back, that 19$ - ??? $
I'd much rather find a long-life tracker based on a normal cellular network technology.
Smartone is indeed what it says, a mere "smart" way of making money.

SmartOne use "messages like" communucation with satellites. One message, one location/alarm. 800 monthly prepayed messages cost approx.35 usd. Calculate how many times per month you need information of assets location. 19usd with 100 msg. or 800 msg. for 35 usd.

If this is expensive for "pole to pole" coverage....

TRACKER WITH HIGH CAPACITY BATTERY - ANY SUGGESTION?

I need to install 500 + trackers in buckets without power source.
I tested equipment Quecklink GL300 (with external battery kit), GL505 plus Arknav R35 with two daily positions, but I'm not getting good results in a matter of battery autonomy.
Solar panel can not be installed by customer requirement.
The equipment must be installed internally with closing by soldering.
I need a solution that supports at least 12 months without recharging, weather for Brazil, approximately +10C to +45C.
Thanks in advance,
Marcio

Hi Marcio

We have different solutions and all with extremely long battery life time up to 10 years with 2 daily positions.

Please check our industry models EPS2, 5 and 8 on www.microtracker.dk.

EPS2: using 3 pieces AA alkaline batteries. Last for up to +2000 positions
EPS5: build-in lithium cell will last for up to 8000 positions
EPS8: comes without battery and needs lithium battery

Hi All,

I'm looking for a tracker with long battery life. It only needs to report when alarm/movement sensor is triggered or a manual position request is sent. I understand GPS reception drains batteries so regular postion update is not neccesary, until an alarm is raised.
With long battery life I mean like a year or even longer.

Thanks in advance,

Henk

Hi guys,

I am also looking for an anti-theft tracking device with battery life of about one month. I need the position reported when the device is moved or when I call it.
Price is also important, $50 would be a fair price.

Any recommendations?
