Auto connection to GPS

Wed May 03, 2006 11:02 pm

When I turn off my GPS-receiver and later turn it on, GpsGate 2.0 (4
don't connect to my Gps (NMEA). The same with my Carmin-receiver.

I have to close/open under settings to get connection with my Gps.

When I try the same with GpsGate 1.0 it connects as expected.

What is the problem?

Try the following:

1. Open the Settings dialog
2. Go to the Advanced tab
3. Click on "Show more options..."
4. Go to the Input tab
5. Close the input if it is opened.
6. Select "COM Port" from the drop down
7. Change "Retry connection to input" to "On timeout".
8. Click "Open"
9. Select the port your GPS is opened to

Now the reconnection mechanism in GpsGate 2.0 is more like the one you found in GpsGate 1.1

Johan
