Is Gauss-Kruger Projection another name of Transverse Mercator projection?
If no, is it possible to do a converting between them? How? I'm using Datum WGS84 |

Yes, Gauss-Kruger Projection is another name for Transverse Mercator projection.

So,
If I change the Transverse Mercator algorithm to be the Gauss-Kruger algorithm (in WGS84 grids), it will show me the same result, isnt it?
Many Thanks, Reza M |

Transverse Mercator is one projection that uses Gauss-Kruger.
Yes, you should be able to do that. Test and verify the results.

Another question,
How to convert a coordinate of (for example): UTM Zone 51N (WGS-84) to WGS-84 Gauss-Kruger
Please also tell me if this question is not relevant.
Thanks, Reza M |

The question is probably not relevant.
Note that "Gauss-Kruger" is a method to do projections from lon/lat (datum) to Easting/Northing (grid), UTM uses Transverse Mercator (which is based on GK).
UTM is a grid, WGS84 is a datum.
I think what you need to do is to play around with CoordTrans, examine the results and compare it to other known values you expect to receive.

Thanks, Johan. That's what I was thinking, but not sure as I dont have any reference nor someone to share the idea, since I'm not an expert of this.
The problem began when I had a coordinate in China presented like below: Coordinate Using WGS-84: 122deg 6.406minute East (41 414 342 m) 30deg 36.37minute North (3 387 652 m)
I assumed the values between the brackets are the UTM coordinate, and I tried to check it. I put the latitude-longitude values above in CoordTrans using datum WGS-84, and the easting-northing result were: 414 376.43 m 3 386 298.83 m
By using other software I got the same result of easting/northing values.
Just for another check, when I tried to do the vice versa, (as I expected) both softwares showed the coordinate was not even in China. That's why I came with the conclusion that these easting-northing values (shown between the brackets above) were incorrect. Do you agree with me?
Many Thanks, Reza M |
